A studio shaped
by
light.
(About) Est. 2014 — Lisbon
Three photographers, one small studio by the river, and a belief that the best pictures are made slowly — with good light, real people and plenty of time.

(01) Who we are
Halden began as a darkroom in a borrowed garage. Twelve years on we still print by hand, still shoot on film when it matters, and still believe a photograph should be looked at twice.
We work with families, brands and magazines who want pictures that feel lived in rather than produced. Most of our sittings happen in natural light — at home, on location, or in our studio by the Tagus.
Every project is shot, edited and printed by the same small team, so the person you meet on day one is the person who hands you the finished book. Nothing is outsourced, nothing is rushed.

Our
approach
01
Slow by design
We book fewer sessions so each one gets the whole day. No rushing between set-ups, no production line — just time for people to relax into the picture.
02
Real light, real people
Windows, overcast skies, the last hour of the afternoon. We light as little as possible and retouch honestly, so you still look like yourself in twenty years.
03
Made to last
Every commission ends in something you can hold — archival prints, a linen-bound book or an album — printed and bound by hand in Lisbon.
